Territory AND ANCESTRAL Acknowledgement

As we are a collection of consultants, the land on which Divonify is situated is in the traditional territories of many nations including the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, Ojibwe, Odawa and Potawatomi, and is treaty 2,  and Upper Canada treaty territory. While we are all treaty people, , we recognize that significant work remains to be done towards reconciliation.

Many of us have come here as settlers in this generation or generations past. Many have been forced to flee from factors outside of their control. We honour and pay tribute to the ancestors of African origin and descent, acknowledging those of us that have come here forcibly as a result of enslavement and the trans-Atlantic slave passage.

Whatever the system that has brought us here, be it through colonialism, exploitation or a combination of the two, we share a commitment to (re)connecting, remembering those how came before.
